Impeded Progenitor Progression (IPP Model)
of Parkinson’s Disease
Optimizing Cellular Milieu to Prevent Neuronal Loss and Protect Neural Circuits
Parkinson’s disease (PD) is a progressive chronic degenerative disease without any disease-modifying treatment. It is caused by loss of dopamine neurons and disruptions of neural circuits in substantia in the mid-brain region. The common early symptoms are tremor, rigidity, slow movements and difficulty in walking. More than a third of individuals with the disease suffer from anxiety and depression. The primary motor symptoms are collectively referred to as parkinsonism. The cause of PD is remains unknown. Environmental factors, such as certain pesticides and head trauma have been incriminated in its pathogenesis.

Neuronal Progenitor Progression
Neuronal progenitor progression is essential for repair of injured and replacement of lost brain cell in all neurodevelopmental, neurodegenerative, and neuro-regenerative disorders. This progression depends on the health and strength of the following three primary bioenergetic systems of the body:
-
Oxygen Bioenenrgetics
-
Insulin Bioenergetics
-
Gut Bioenergetics
The above three bioenenrgetic systems are presented at length in several posts o this site. They can be accessed by using the simple word GIO
G for Gut
I for insulin
O for Oxygen
For example, use GIO HEALTH as search words.
