Who could have imagined that The New York Times would ever print the words quoted above, which it did on January 24, 2016 (page 36).We owe the Times a debt of gratitude for this bold admission.

No longer viable? The Times did not say whether non-viability of academic medicine happened recently. And if did happen sometimes in the past,

In the Interest of complete disclosure, I must add here that the above quotes from the Times are taken for a centerfold advertisement in the New York Times Magazine taken by  the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital, New York.

Another thing. I have never seen a paper published from the Mount Sinai Hospital which reported reversal of diabetes, heart diseases, or any other condition with holistic, nondrug therapies.

Long live computers!
