Toxic “Natural Organic” Diapers for Newborns
Toxic Gifts in Diapers for Newborns
Next to the unborn, the newborns are most vulnerable to environmental toxins. So, you would be expect the makers of baby products to make special efforts to keep their products fee of toxins. You would if you were so generous in your spirit that you would believe even large American corporations.
Let us consider the case of the maker of Huggies disposable diapers. Sometime ago it introduced what it marketed as a “pure and natural” line. Here is what the company billed it: [a] “superpremium diaper that includes natural, organic materials and ingredients to provide gentle protection for new babies, as well as initial steps toward environmental improvements, without sacrificing performance.”
Now the truth: the diapers contain toxic chemicals, among them PPs and PAs chemicals (PPs, polypropylene; PAs, polyacrylate). How did mothers find this out? In 2015, Huggies customers filed a class action against Kimberly-Clark (the diaper maker) claiming they had been misled.
