We Are What We Converse

Our conversations have biologic consequences. Good senses produce good changes, and bad feelings provoke bad responses. With time, bad conversations generate demons who torment their creators, often for long periods of time.

Anorexia is an eating disorder which has one of highest, if not the highest, mortality rate of any mental illness. It is usually resistant to both drug and talk therapy. When hospitalized for extreme weight loss and dehydration, one of two anorexic patients discharged after gaining weight (to their normal weight relapse within a year.


Altered Brain Circuits

Studies with functional MRI scans reveal anorexia involves brain circuits that are known to play roles in habitual behaviors in which people persist in making self-destructive choices – as, for example, in the case of cocaine addiction and compulsive gambling.
